Ruling on leaving the regular voluntary prayer due to the narrowness of the prayer space

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This questioner, your sister in Allah (S. S.) from Riyadh, says: O Shaykh, we are a group of teachers at the school who pray in succession on two mats. So when I want to pray, there is someone behind me waiting for me to finish the prayer. So I leave some of the recommended practices, especially the midday prayer, and I may not pray the recommended practices until my other colleagues can pray after me. How do I make up these recommended practices? And am I sinful for doing so?

Answer:
The recommended practices are voluntary: the recommended practice of the midday prayer, the sunset prayer, the night prayer, the dawn prayer, and the afternoon prayer are all voluntary. There is no sin, praise be to Allah. But it is recommended to maintain them; if you prayed them in your place, that would be better. Then your sister in Allah prays like you; do not rush. Pray the obligatory prayer and the regular voluntary prayer, then your sister in Allah does the same as you, and does not rush. The time—praise be to Allah—is ample from the midday prayer. There is great good in this, and it is not prescribed to be lenient in this. Rather, it is recommended to pray four rak'ahs with two taslims before the midday prayer, and one taslim after the midday prayer. If you prayed two taslims after the midday prayer, that would be better, due to his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever prays regularly four Rak'at before and four Rak'at after the Zuhr prayer, Allah will forbid for him (from entering) the Hellfire.من حافظ على أربع قبل الظهر، وأربع بعدها؛ حرمه الله على النار
Bulugh al-Maram 2:262
This is a great favor.
So it is better to pray two taslims before the midday prayer, and two taslims after it, for the man and the woman. And if you prayed in your place, and then your sister in Allah prays, all of this is good, praise be to Allah. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you and bless you, O Shaykh.
