Is there zakah in a salary if the lunar year has not passed?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it obligatory for an employee who receives a monthly salary to pay zakah on this salary, even though the lunar year does not complete for it? Please guide us. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
There is no zakah in a salary if the lunar year has not passed for it. Whoever says that one who receives money must pay zakah immediately is mistaken. Zakah becomes obligatory only when the lunar year has passed. When the lunar year passes, it is paid. If the salary, or part of it, is saved until the lunar year passes and it reaches the nisab, then it is paid. The rate is two and a half percent. However, if the lunar year does not pass for it because he spends it on his needs, then he owes no zakah.
Likewise, one who inherits an estate, or is given a gift, such as money or assistance for a marriage, and spends it immediately before the lunar year passes, using it for his needs, owes no zakah. Zakah is due only when the lunar year passes over the inheritance, the money he inherited, or the assistance he received for a marriage or otherwise. If the lunar year passes, he pays zakah on it. But if he spends it on his needs before the completion of the lunar year, there is no zakah in it.
