The Ruling on the Adhan and Iqamah When Placing the Deceased in the Grave
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: What is the ruling on the adhan and iqamah at the grave of the deceased when he is placed in it?
A: There is no doubt that this is a bid'ah (religious innovation) for which Allah has not sent down any authority; because this was not transmitted from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) or from his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), and all good lies in following them and treading their path, as He, the Exalted, said: [Surah al-Tawbah: 100], and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 1718a, and in another wording he, may Allah's prayers and blessings be upon him, said: Sahih Muslim 1718b, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 867a, narrated by Muslim in his Sahih from the hadith of Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
