The ruling on a person photographing himself and sending the image to his family

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible for a person to photograph himself and send the image to his family during festivals and the like?

Answer:
The hadiths from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the prohibition of image-making, the cursing of image-makers, and the warning of them with various types of warnings have become numerous. Therefore, it is not permissible for a Muslim to photograph himself or to photograph any other being with a soul, except in cases of dire necessity, such as for an identity card or a passport, and the like.
We ask Allah to rectify the conditions of the Muslims, and to guide the rulers to adhere to His Shari'ah and to be cautious of what contradicts it. He is the best of those asked. And success is from Allah.
