False circulars circulated by some people
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: We received a message from a teacher at the Third Secondary School in Riyadh, in which she asks about circulars distributed in some schools. The text of those circulars reads: Allah the Exalted said: [Surah al-Zumar: 96]. [Surah al-A'raf: 107]. [Surah Yunus: 64] [Surah Ibrahim: 27]. Send these verses to bring about good, a favorable omen, and success. Distribute them around the world nine times, and they will bring you good and success after four days, by the permission of Allah. This is not for play or amusement, nor is it to take the noble verses of Allah in jest. You will see what reaches you within four days.
You must send copies of this message. This message previously reached a businessman who distributed it immediately, and news came to him of the success of a commercial deal, exceeding his expectations by seven thousand dinars. It also reached a doctor who neglected it, and he met his death in a car accident that left him completely disfigured, remaining a lifeless, scattered corpse about which everyone spoke, because he neglected to distribute the message. One of the contractors was surprised by the award of a lucrative contract to him, but he neglected to distribute it, so his eldest son died in a car accident in a sister Arab country.
Therefore, please send 25 copies, and you will be blessed with what reaches you on the fourth day. Beware of neglecting it, for there are those who gained thousands by adhering to it, while those who neglected it faced danger to their lives and wealth. May Allah guide us and you to convey this message. And success is from Allah.
A: When I read this message, I wrote the following: This circular and the benefits claimed by its author to result from it, as well as the danger claimed to result from neglecting it, is a lie with no basis in truth. Rather, it is from the fabrications of liars and jesters. It is not permissible to distribute it, neither inside nor outside the country. Rather, it is an evil (munkar) for which the doer commits a sin and deserves immediate and deferred punishment. This is because the evil of innovations (bid'ah) is great, and their consequences are severe. This circular, in this form, is from the reprehensible innovations and from lying about Allah, the Exalted. Allah the Exalted said: [Surah al-Nahl: 105]. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 1718a Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 1718b Narrated by Muslim in his Sahih.
It is obligatory for all Muslims who come across such a circular to tear it up, destroy it, and warn people against it. We have neglected it, and others among the people of faith have neglected it, and we have seen nothing but good. Similar to it is the circular attributed to the attendant of the Prophet's Chamber, and another circular like the one mentioned above, but it begins with the words of Allah the Exalted: [Surah al-Mulk: 29] instead of the words of Allah the Exalted: [Surah al-Zumar: 66]. All of them are false circulars with no basis in truth, and neither good nor evil results from them. However, the one who fabricates it, distributes it, calls for it, or promotes it among people commits a sin. This is because all of this falls under the category of cooperating in sin and transgression, and under the category of promoting innovations and encouraging people to adopt them.
We ask Allah for well-being for us and for the Muslims from all evil, and we rely on Allah regarding the one who created it. We ask Allah to deal with him as he deserves, for his lying about Allah, his promotion of lies, and his occupying people with what harms them and does not benefit them. And for the sake of advice to Allah and His servants, this warning was issued.
Rather, worship [only] Allah and be among the grateful.
بَلِ اللَّهَ فَاعْبُدْ وَكُنْ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَSo they who have believed in him, honored him, supported him and followed the light which was sent down with him - it is those who will be the successful.
For them are good tidings in the worldly life and in the Hereafter. No change is there in the words of Allah. That is what is the great attainment.
Allah keeps firm those who believe, with the firm word, in worldly life and in the Hereafter. And Allah sends astray the wrongdoers. And Allah does what He wills.
You must send copies of this message.
