Ruling on cutting down harmful trees from graveyards

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: Is it permissible to cut down harmful trees in graveyards?

A: They should be cut down because they harm the visitors, and likewise, any thorns found there should be removed to spare the visitors from their harm. It is not prescribed for anyone to plant any trees or palm branches on graves, for Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has not prescribed that.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) only planted two palm branches on two graves that he recognized and knew were being punished, and he did not plant on the graves of Madinah or the graves of al-Baqi'. Likewise, the Companions did not do that, so it is known that this was specific to the two men in the punished graves. We ask Allah for safety.
