Ruling on Cutting Harmful Trees in Makkah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Parasitic trees have grown in the courtyard of my house, and they are harming the children. Is it permissible for me to cut them down, with compensation or without, inside the Haram?

Answer:
This involves a doubtful matter, but the closer view—may Allah know best—is that it is permissible to cut them down to remove the harm. The general prohibition against cutting down its trees or thorns did not apply to a situation like this. However, if they are causing harm on the road, or causing harm to a person in his house, he should remove them, just as if something from the permissible things, like a cat, were harming him, he would have the right to kill it if it harmed him and its evil could not be repelled except by killing it, and so on. But if it is possible to put some earth on them, meaning without cutting them down, to put some earth on them that preserves them while removing their harm, if that is possible, then that is good. As for compensation, there is no evidence for it.
