Ruling on the belief that healing is obtained by drinking from a specific basin

The first letter in this episode is from one of our brother listeners. He says: Abdullah Muhammad Abdulaziz. Our brother began his letter as follows: In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy. Your Eminence, Shaykh Abdulaziz ibn Baz, the General President of the Committees for Research and Ifta, may Allah preserve you. Peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings.
And after: Praise be to Allah the Exalted and thanks to Him, and we ask Him, the Sublime, the Almighty, to reward you with good, you and everyone who is a source of good for the Muslims.
And after: O Your Eminence! Some people in the Qudaid valley have a vessel made of copper which they call the "Poison Basin." When a person falls ill, he goes to the one who has this basin, fills it with water, and drinks that water, believing that there is healing in this water, especially if the illness is in the stomach. I have noticed that there are engraved images on the vessel, which are of a scorpion, a horse, a cat, a gazelle, donkeys—may Allah protect you—a snake, a fox, an elephant, a lion, men, and some other images I do not know. They are all engraved on this vessel. There are also names and writings such as "the martyr" and so on. He continues to describe that basin and asks Your Eminence to guide the people regarding this matter. May Allah reward you with good?
Answer: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon the Messenger of Allah, upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance.
As for what follows: This basin that the questioner referred to is a denunciation-worthy thing, and it contains among the signs of denunciation the images mentioned by the questioner. We do not know of any basin, whether of iron, copper, gold, or silver, that brings about the healing of stomach diseases. Rather, it is a claim made by the owner of the basin. Rather, it appears, and Allah knows best, that he uses jinn or performs sorcery, claiming thereby that he treats people, in order to take people’s money unjustly and to deceive them into believing that he treats them with this basin.
Therefore, it is obligatory that this basin be confiscated and that the matter be dealt with by disciplining its owner and ascertaining the truth of what he is doing, so that the discretionary punishment he deserves is carried out against him. This is obligatory upon the responsible parties in Qudaid: the prince, the judge, and the committee. The matter must be referred to the court, the committee, and the emirate so that they do what is required in this subject. It is not permissible to remain silent about the owner of this basin, because his work is a denunciation-worthy thing with no basis in the Shari'ah.
And it is upon you, O questioner, to carry out this matter, you and your brothers who are aware of this matter, so that you may rid your town of this denunciation-worthy thing and eliminate this harm or this evil through your efforts, if Allah wills. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
