The ruling on doubt regarding the passing of wind during prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
He also asks and says: When I enter into prayer, it occurs to me that wind is coming out of me, but I do not feel anything, neither a sound nor a smell. However, when I feel this, I control myself and press down on myself until the prayer is finished. What is the ruling on my prayer?
Answer: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about a man who is led to believe in prayer that something is coming out of him, so he said, (peace and blessings be upon him):
He should not return (from prayer) unless he hears a sound or perceives a smell (of passing wind).لا ينصرف حتى يسمع صوتًا أو يجد ريحًا
Sahih Muslim 361
This is what he said, (peace and blessings be upon him). And in the other wording, he said, (peace and blessings be upon him):
If any of you has a pain in his abdomen, but is doubtful whether or not anything has issued from him, he should not leave the mosque unless he hears a sound or perceives a smell.إذا وجد أحدكم في بطنه شيئًا فأشكل عليه: أخرج منه شيء أم لا، فلا يخرجن من المسجد حتى يسمع صوتًا أو يجد ريحًا
Mishkat al-Masabih 306
. So the one who is led to believe that something has come out of him does not invalidate his ablution or his prayer; rather, he remains in his state. His prayer is valid and his ablution is valid until he knows with certainty that something has come out of him, even if it is not by sound or smell. If he knows with certainty that wind has come out of him, or that urine has come out of him, then the purity is invalidated and the prayer is invalidated. But as long as there is doubt, even one percent... his prayer is valid and his purity is valid, and he does not break off from his prayer; because this is from the whispers of Satan and his evil deeds. He leads the person to believe that something has come out of him, he blows into his backside until he is led to believe that something has come out of him, he moves things around his backside.
So the point is that Satan is eager to invalidate the purity of the believer and invalidate his prayer. So it is not befitting for the believer to fulfill Satan’s hope and his scheme by breaking off from the prayer without a matter that is certain. If he is certain that something has come out of him, otherwise he is in a prayer that he completes. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you.
