Advice for a girl whose marriage has been delayed and urging fathers to marry off their daughters

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! This is a message received from the questioner (S. S.) in Riyadh. She says: Please remember, Your Eminence, that she is a girl who is approaching thirty and has been a university graduate for a long time. Her father refuses the idea of marriage, coveting the job for which she says: I have not been able to get it for a long time. She says: I turn to Allah and supplicate to Him to grant me a righteous husband. And I supplicate to Allah after every prayer, especially in the last third of the night. What increased my sorrow and anguish is that Allah did not respond to my supplication and did not fulfill the wish that every girl desires. She says, remember: I constantly think that I may be supplicating for something that Allah did not write for me in the first place. Is this thinking permissible? And at the end of my message, I direct you to supplicate for me, Your Eminence. May you be rewarded.
Answer: May Allah make your affair easy, and grant you a righteous husband. We advise you to ask Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, to grant you a righteous husband in prostration, in the final tashahhud, and in the last part of the night. Ask Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, and do not despair and do not lose hope. Ask Allah to grant you... a righteous husband, and to help you with the rights of marriage. Be glad of good, if Allah wills. Be glad of good.
It is obligatory for your father to help in this. It is obligatory for your father to fear Allah and to seek for you a righteous husband, and not to let his love of money prevent him from marrying you off. Rather, he must strive to marry you off, and Allah will make you rich without your job and your salary. And you, do not despair and do not lose hope. The non-response may be due to the causes of your sins. You may have committed sins, so fear Allah, repent to Allah, and hold yourself to account. For the response may be prevented by the causes of sin. You may have been negligent in the obligatory prayers, you may have been negligent in being dutiful to your parents, you may have been negligent in other sins. So fear Allah, hold yourself to account, strive, and repent to Allah for your negligence in sins. Be glad of good; Allah will respond to your supplication and will grant you a righteous husband if you are sincere and pure in your supplication and avoid the causes of deprivation, which are sins and bad deeds. Yes.
The presenter: Is there any advice for the fathers, Your Eminence?
The Shaykh: It is obligatory for fathers to fear Allah. Yes, we advise all fathers, and grandfathers, and all guardians, we advise them to fear Allah and to marry off their wards, and not to prevent that for the sake of money. It is obligatory for them to marry them off out of concern for their chastity and their safety. We ask Allah for guidance and success for everyone. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
