Marrying Off the Children

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 17933 )
Q: Allah has blessed me with several children, may Allah reform them and bless them. Some of them have graduated, married, and been employed, while others have not yet married. Is there any harm if I help those who have not married to get married, without giving the same help to those who are already married? Please give us a ruling, may Allah reward you with good and multiply your reward. And may peace and the mercy of Allah and His blessings be upon you.
A: It is obligatory for you to marry off any of your sons who needs to marry if he is unable to do so from his own wealth, and you are able to do so. You should cover the costs of his marriage. However, you should not give the married sons, who are able to marry with their own money, the same amount that you paid to marry this son in need. This is because this is considered obligatory spending, and it is not a gift that requires equal distribution among the children. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
