Ruling on taking a fee for mere recitation of the Qur'an

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Finally, he asks about the case where a person brings someone to his house to recite the Qur'an for him, and then pays him a sum of money. What is the ruling on that? Please inform us, may Allah reward you.
Answer: Taking a fee for recitation is not permissible. Some scholars have reported the consensus of the scholars on this matter. It is not permissible for a person to recite for a fee based solely on the recitation, whether to be paid in so-and-so's house, or so-and-so's house, or for so-and-so's sick person. No, he should recite for the sake of Allah and not be given a fee. However, if a gift is given to him, or he is given something without a prior agreement, we hope that nothing is required of him in that matter, as it falls under the category of kindness. If he is poor, he is given from the category of kindness. But if there is a prior agreement, such as "today for such-and-such amount," or "each part for such-and-such amount," or "the surah for such-and-such amount," this is reprehensible and not permissible. Yes.
