Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Who are those for whom it is permissible to break the fast during the day in Ramadan?

The Shaykh : Those for whom it is permissible to break the fast during the day in Ramadan are of several types. Among them are the sick person and the traveler, based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:
and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days وَمَنْ كَانَ مَرِيضًا أَوْ عَلَى سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ
[Al-Baqarah 2:185]
. Among them are the pregnant woman and the nursing woman, if they fear for themselves or for their children, or for themselves and their children. Among them is the one who needs to break the fast for the benefit of another or to save another from destruction, such as if he sees a Muslim near a fire and fears for his safety, and he is unable to save him from this fire except by breaking his fast; in this case, he may break his fast. Among them are the menstruating woman and the woman with post-natal bleeding, for they break their fast; indeed, their fasting is invalid, because it is forbidden for them.

The questioner : May Allah reward you.
