The ruling on saying the two testimonies of faith when parting ways and making them the last of their conversation

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The question: It says: A custom has spread in my country where, when two people part ways for travel or otherwise, they make their last words by one of them saying the testimony: "There is no god but Allah," and the other replying with the remaining half: "Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah," believing that Allah will reunite them again. They do this as a form of optimism or seeking blessing through the two testimonies. One of the brothers here told me that this matter is a religious innovation and must be abandoned, as it is not reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or from any of the Companions or the generation after the Companions. Please guide us, may Allah preserve you. What is your opinion? May Allah reward you with good?
The answer: Yes, this is a religious innovation and is not permissible. This act, where at the time of parting one reads the testimony: "There is no god but Allah," and the second reads: "Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah," has no basis. It is not prescribed; rather, it is an invented religious innovation. When parting ways, each person should say: "In the safety of Allah" or something similar, "May Allah grant you well-being," or "In the safety of Allah," or "In the protection of Allah," or something like that, or "I entrust your religion to Allah" or something similar. Yes, but dividing the two testimonies between them has no basis.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good and reward you.
