Ruling on Hanging Something to Ward Off Harm

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner asks further and says: There is a scorpion venom that, when worn by some people, numbs the scorpion so that it cannot bite the person wearing it. Is hanging it considered one of the amulets that are prohibited?
The answer is: Yes, hanging something that prevents harm is considered an amulet, whether one claims it prevents scorpions, or snakes, or fever, or anything else. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited hanging amulets, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever hangs a tamimah, Allah will not complete for him, and whoever hangs a wada'ah, Allah will not grant him peace.من تعلق تميمة فلا أتم الله له، ومن تعلق ودعة فلا ودع الله له
In another narration, it is said: “Whoever hangs an amulet has committed shirk (associating partners with Allah).”
The point is that hanging amulets is not permissible against fever, scorpions, snakes, wild beasts, or the like, if one believes that they ward off harm. Whether it is this specific bracelet or knot made of cotton, wool, or something else, or that this ring prevents harm, or the like, all of this is not permissible, and this is a practice of the pre-Islamic age of ignorance (jahiliyyah).
However, one should resort to what Allah has prescribed, such as seeking refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created, three times in the morning and evening. Similarly, saying: “In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing on earth or in the sky can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing,” three times in the morning and evening. Also, reciting Ayat al-Kursi (the Verse of the Throne) after every prayer, following the dhikr (remembrance of Allah), and reciting
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قل هو الله أحد
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
and the two Mu'awwidhat (chapters of seeking refuge) after every prayer. All of these are means of safety and well-being from evil.
As for hanging a thread, a bracelet, or anything that is hung, such as a ring, a bracelet, or anything else that is hung, all of this is not permissible if the intention is to ward off evils such as fever, scorpions, snakes, or the like. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you.
