Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner says: He heard that most of the punishment of the Ummah of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is in their graves? Is this statement correct, O honorable Shaykh?

Answer:
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Beware of (smearing yourselves with) urine, because it is the main cause of punishment in the graveاستنزهوا من البول، فإن عامة عذاب القبر منه
Bulugh al-Maram 103
And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
He saw two people being punished in their graves, one of whom: did not protect himself from urineإنه رأى شخصين يعذبان في قبورهما، أحدهما: كان لا يستتر من البول
meaning: one does not cleanse oneself from urine. So it is obligatory for the Muslim man and woman to be cautious regarding urine and to cleanse themselves from it. If he cleanses himself from urine, he should be careful, and if something hits his thigh or his garment, he washes it. This is what is obligatory for the man and woman regarding urine: to be cautious of it and strive to ensure that nothing hits their garments or their bodies. Yes.
