Explanation of the Book of Purification-19

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :“And from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Beware of (smearing yourselves with) urine, because it is the main cause of punishment in the grave
Bulugh al-Maram 103
Al-Daraqutni narrated it, and for al-Hakim:
Most of the torment of the grave is because of urine.
Sunan Ibn Majah 348Hasan (Darussalam)
and it has a sound chain of narration”
:
His saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Purify yourselves
means: seek purity, and purity is cleanliness.
And his saying:
From the urine. من البول
means: relieve yourselves of it. Then he attributed this to his saying:
it is the main cause of punishment in the grave
Bulugh al-Maram 103

And his saying:
From the urine. من البول
Is it general?
It has been mentioned to us before that al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) holds that all urine is ritually impure. On this view, the hadith would be general. However, this opinion is weak, due to the evidence we mentioned a moment ago, and because in the authentic hadith narrated by the two Shaykhs, the hadith of Ibn Abbas:
That the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by two graves being punished, and he said: As for one of them, he used not to ensure himself from his urine
: this is in one of the narrations of al-Bukhari. On this basis, the intended meaning of urine is: the urine that one is frequently afflicted with, which is: one's own urine.
because it is the main cause of punishment in the grave
Bulugh al-Maram 103
.
“And for al-Hakim:
Most of the torment of the grave is because of urine.
Sunan Ibn Majah 348Hasan (Darussalam)
and it has a sound chain of narration”
: It is derived from this hadith: the obligation of protecting oneself from urine, due to his saying:
Protect yourselves from urine

The student: The time for questions has arrived.

The Shaykh : The time for questions has arrived. So, we will postpone the benefits, if Allah wills, to the next lesson.
