The ruling on a woman feeling discomfort at her father's visit
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner, O Shaykh 'Abd al-'Aziz (may Allah preserve you), says: I feel and sense severe discomfort when my father comes to visit me, and I do not even want him to visit me. Do I also sin for that?
Answer:
You must strive to welcome him, speak kindly to him, and offer a good greeting, and it will not harm you, if Allah wills, because you only disliked it because of the money you give him from your husband's wealth, which you are hesitant about. However, soften your speech and welcome him, and it is obligatory for you to welcome him and open your heart to him, because his right is great. But make an excuse and say: "I have no money except my husband's money, and it is not permissible for me to give you from my husband's money." Speak to him with kind words, because his right is great. It was reported from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:Bulugh al-Maram 16:21, and Allah the Exalted says: [al-Isra: 23], and He says: : [al-Nisa: 36]. So the right of the parents is great.
Therefore, it is obligatory for you to be open with your father, welcome him, and treat him well according to your ability. But do not take anything from your husband's wealth for your father without his permission.
The presenter: May Allah reward you and bless you, O Shaykh.

Allah’s pleasure results from the parent’s pleasure, and Allah’s displeasure results from the parent’s displeasure.
رضا الله في رضا الوالدين، وسخط الله في سخط الوالدينAnd your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment
وَقَضَى رَبُّكَ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوا إِلَّا إِيَّاهُ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًاWorship Allah and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do good
وَاعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَلا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًاTherefore, it is obligatory for you to be open with your father, welcome him, and treat him well according to your ability. But do not take anything from your husband's wealth for your father without his permission.
The presenter: May Allah reward you and bless you, O Shaykh.
