Ruling on Reciting the Qur'an While Lying Down

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Our brother asks and says: Is it permissible for me to read the Qur'an from the mushaf while I am lying down?

Answer:
There is no harm. Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) says in His great Book:
Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for those of understanding.إِنَّ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَاخْتِلافِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ لَآيَاتٍ لِأُولِي الأَلْبَابِ ۝
[Al-Imran: 190-191.
And dhikr (remembrance of Allah) is done by reciting the Qur'an, and by tasbih, tahmid, tahlil, and takbir, and by du'a' (supplication) and istighfar (seeking forgiveness). Reciting the Qur'an is included among these. So if he recites it while standing, or sitting, or on his side, or lying on his back, all of this is permissible, and praise be to Allah. Yes.

The presenter: Praise be to Allah.
