Ruling on praying in a mosque with a grave in front of it, separated by a wall

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Our brother says: We have a single mosque in the village where I live, but next to it on the qiblah side is a shrine, and a wall separates them, and there is no door between the shrine and the mosque. So, is praying in this mosque permissible or not?

Answer:
Yes, if the mosque is not in the cemetery, and was not built on the cemetery, nor on graves, then the prayer in it is valid, provided it is separated from the graves, with a wall blocking them off. But if the graves are in front of the one praying, then no; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Do not pray toward graves and do not sit on them.لا تصلوا إلى القبور، ولا تجلسوا عليها
Sunan an-Nasa'i 760Sahih (Darussalam)
.
And it is obligatory that there be a wall separating them so that one does not pray toward them. If it was built on the edge of the structure to honor the graves, it must be demolished. But if it was built on sound land with no graves in it, or if the graves are located in front of it, that does not harm. Yes.
However, the believer should avoid the causes of fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) as much as possible. If he fears that someone might assume this mosque was built for the sake of the graves, he should place it in another location far from the causes of fitnah; because some people have much ignorance, and they might assume the mosque was built for the sake of the graves around it. In this matter, the believer and the people of good should be cautious, and mosques should be kept away from graves so that no one assumes they were built for the sake of the graves.
