Fatwa No. ( 14084 )
Q: For the past few years, I have not left any matter involving obedience to Allah without hastening to perform it, nor any prohibition without staying away from it. Then, what struck me struck me. For example, after I used to never miss a prayer without performing it in the mosque, I now find nothing heavier than praying in the mosque; because of the whispers I find in my chest and other things I am too shy to mention. My soul has become two souls: one with good in it, and I fear that it is my outward appearance, and the other soul is all evil, and I fear that it is what is inside me, so I fall into hypocrisy. Now, I do not do anything, small or large, without being struck by whispers: why did I do this, and why did I not do that? Even when I speak to my companion, I think about what is going on in his head, not what is going on in my head. I do not know if what is with me is a trial from Allah, or a punishment and torment where Allah has sealed my heart, or if its cause is the chronic illness I have, for I am a heart patient? My master, I tried to turn to Allah through supplication and seeking forgiveness to get out of what is with me. Is Allah punishing me for sins I committed, or I seek refuge in Allah that it is that, that He has informed me that this message contains errors and things that should not be mentioned; therefore, I ask for your excuse, and I advise you at the end of the message to supplicate for me, for perhaps that is the cure.
that you mention it; therefore, I ask for your forgiveness, and I advise you at the end of the message to make du'a' for me, for perhaps that is the cure.

A: You must hold fast to Allah the Exalted and strive to perform the obligatory acts of the religion, such as prayer and fasting, and do what you can of voluntary acts, and increase in reciting the Book of Allah the Exalted with presence of heart, reflection, and acting upon it, and increase in remembrance and supplication, especially in the times of response and the last part of the night. Perhaps Allah will guide your heart and expand your chest, and forgive us and you. He is near and responsive. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
