The Ruling on Charity for the Deceased

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner Hamza asks: Does ongoing charity reach the deceased? And does the reward of wealth also reach the deceased? O Shaykh.

Answer:
Yes, charity reaches the deceased if someone else gives charity on his behalf, and it is better to do so with a sincere intention on his behalf, with water or other wealth such as gold and silver, or anything else. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased).إذا مات ابن آدم انقطع عمله إلا من ثلاث: صدقة جارية، أو علم ينتفع به، أو ولد صالح يدعو له
Riyad as-Salihin 1383
Yes.
