Is it permissible for a son to prevent his mother from marrying?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Many suitors have come to me to ask for my mother's hand in marriage, and I dislike in my heart to marry her off while I am still here. I also dislike that a man other than my father should enter her home. Is my behavior wrong, or is it right?

Answer:
Rather, it is a mistake on your part. If she desires to marry, it is obligatory for you to marry her off, and there is no blame on you for that. In fact, it is obligatory for you to strive to be dutiful to her, just as you strive to be dutiful to your father. The right of the mother is greater and more significant than the right of the father. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said when he was asked: A man said to him, "O Messenger of Allah, who is the most deserving of my good companionship?" He said:
Your motherأمُّك
, he said, "Then who?" He said:
Your motherأمك
, he said, "Then who?" He said:
Your motherأمك
, he said, "Then who?" He said:
Your father.أبوك
, he is in the fourth place, so the right of the mother is greater.
So if she desires to marry, you must respond to that if the suitable person asks for her hand. It is not permissible for you to obstruct the matter for the sake of your own desire. No.
