The listener (M. A. A.) from the Arab Republic of Egypt sent a lengthy message, the summary of which is: that he has an uncle who has passed away and left behind two daughters, and he wishes to marry one of them, but his mother refuses this. He asks for your guidance on how to reconcile his desire with his mother's approval?
Answer: It is prescribed for you, my brother, to please your mother and to take her feelings into account in this matter. Her status is great and her right is significant. It is established from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that when a questioner asked him:Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 5 in the fourth instance, and in the other wording: Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 5 So the mother's right is great. Therefore, it is prescribed for you to be dutiful to her and not to marry a woman she does not approve of. But if the proposed woman is righteous and religious, do not rush. Instead, engage with your father in consulting her about granting you permission, and approach her with some men or women you love and respect who can help you persuade her, so that she may agree. Marry with your mother's consent and do not rush. If she remains adamant and does not agree, my advice to you is to seek another woman. Allah will give you another woman and ease your matter because of your dutifulness to your mother and there are many women besides her. Yes.
