Q: Since I wish to avoid doubtful matters, my story is as follows: First : I am a young man who wishes to marry my paternal aunt’s daughter, my father’s sister. Second: My paternal aunt’s son was breastfed by my full sister , knowing that my sister has passed away. The question is: Can I marry my paternal aunt’s daughter? Knowing that my paternal aunt’s son is married to a family other than mine, I ask for your guidance. May Allah guide you to what He loves and is pleased with, and may peace and Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon you.
A: If the matter is as stated, it is permissible for you to marry your paternal aunt’s daughter, and the breastfeeding of her brother by your mother has no effect on this marriage. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
