The ruling on slaughtering when entering a new house

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He asks and says: Is it permissible to slaughter a sheep or a chicken in the new house before moving into it?

Answer:
If the belief is that it drives away the jinn or something similar, this is not permissible. However, if he slaughters for his family or gathers the neighbors to give thanks to Allah, and makes a feast for the neighbors, then there is nothing wrong with it. This is good, as a form of gratitude to Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He). As for slaughtering a chicken or another sacrifice when laying the foundation or when it is completed, out of fear of the jinn, or believing that it drives away the jinn or that it brings about such and such, this is a religious innovation and is not permissible.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
