The slaughter when the bride enters the house

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 19595 )
Q1: We have customs in marriage; when the wife comes from her parents' house to her husband's house, they slaughter a sheep or a goat at the beginning of her entry through the door of the house. What is the ruling on this practice in your view? Please inform us of this, and may Allah reward you with good.
A1: Slaughtering a sacrificial animal when the wife enters her husband's house in order to please the jinn, and believing that if that sacrificial animal is not slaughtered, he or his family will be afflicted with tragedies and unpleasant events or the like, is one of the forbidden customs, indeed it is major shirk (associating partners with Allah); because that is slaughtering for other than Allah, whereas slaughtering is an act of worship for Allah the Exalted, and it is not permissible to draw near to anyone with it except Him alone. So whoever directs it to other than Allah has committed major shirk. Allah the Exalted said:
(162) Say, "Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds. (163) No partner has He. And this I have been commanded, and I am the first [among you] of the Muslims."
[Al-An'am 6:162-163]
And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the one who slaughters for other than Allah, saying:
Allah cursed him who sacrificed for anyone besides Allahلعن الله من ذبح لغير الله
Sahih Muslim 1978b
Narrated by Imam Muslim in his Sahih. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
