The ruling on taking food from her parents' house for her children

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A questioner says: Your Eminence, Shaykh Abdul Aziz.
Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings.
As for what follows: I love you with a profound love, a love for the sake of Allah, because of the good and virtue you consistently offer us at all times.
As for what follows: My family was small, and we lived in a small village. We were struck by hunger and drought, and my mother would take grain from her parents' house without their knowledge or awareness. She would grind it and serve it to us as food. We ask the honorable Shaykh to inform us what the mother is obligated to do, and what the expiation is if we owe anything? Please inform us, may Allah reward you!

Answer:
As for your love for your brother for the sake of Allah, I say: May Allah love you, for you loved us for His sake. We ask Allah to make us and you among those who love one another for His majesty. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Allah would say on the Day of Resurrection: Where are those who have mutual love for My Glory's sake? Today I shall shelter them in My shadow when there is no other shadow but the shadow of Mine.يقول الله يوم القيامة: أين المتحابون بجلالي؟ اليوم أظلهم في ظلي يوم لا ظل إلا ظلي
Sahih Muslim 2566
, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Seven are shaded by Allah in His shade - and he mentioned among them - those who love one another for the sake of Allahسبعة يظلهم الله في ظله - وذَكَر منهم - المتحابين في الله
.
As for what concerns what your mother did in a state of hunger and need, taking from her parents' house: there is no blame on her for that. This is because it is obligatory for her relatives, her father and mother, to feed her and feed her children if they have no one to support them and no one to provide for them. It is obligatory for them to provide for them and be kind to them. Muslims are one body; it is obligatory for them to have mercy on their poor, support them, be kind to them, and meet their needs. A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim.
In the two authentic collections, it is narrated from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim; he does not wrong him nor hand him over - meaning: he does not abandon him and leave him to one who wrongs him - and whoever is in the need of his brother, Allah is in his needالمسلم أخو المسلم، لا يظلمه ولا يُسلمه -أي: لا يخذله ويتركه لمن يظلمه- ومن كان في حاجة أخيه كان الله في حاجته
.
Hind bint 'Utbah said: O Messenger of Allah! Abu Sufyan is a stingy man; he does not give me what suffices me and my children except what I take from his wealth without his knowledge. Is there any sin on me for this? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Take from his property what is customary which may suffice you and your children.خذي من ماله بالمعروف ما يكفيك ويكفي بنيك
Sahih Muslim 1714a
, meaning: without his knowledge.
Therefore, what your mother took from her relatives, from her father's and mother's house, that served to save her and save her children, there is no blame in it, and she owes nothing for it as long as she is in need and there is no one to support her other than them.
