Ruling on making up fasting for a woman who left it off in ignorance

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
In the last of this questioner’s questions, a woman from al-Kharj says: When I was young, I missed several years in which I did not fast. She says: My family did not direct me to fasting and prayer, and I did not know the matters of my religion. Now I am twenty-eight years old, and what expiation and fasting is required of me?

Answer:
If she did not pray, she must repent. Repentance from what she left of prayer and fasting is sufficient.
As for if she prayed but left off fasting, she must make up what has passed.
As for if she did not pray, being ignorant, and left off fasting and prayer due to lack of teaching, she must repent, and that is sufficient, and praise be to Allah.

The presenter: May Allah preserve you, O Shaykh.
