Machine translationRead the Arabic original
A message reached us from our listener Hanaa Ghalib from Iraq, Baghdad. Our sister says: I am asking about an incident I went through a year and a half ago, and I nearly died from fear and the punishment of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). I hope you will issue a ruling for me. Am I truly sinful? Please inform me, may Allah reward you and bless your efforts. The incident is:
The Shaykh: Repeat.
The presenter: She says: She is asking about an incident she went through a year and a half ago, and she nearly died from fear of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), and she asks if she is truly sinful, and hopes for information. Then she describes the incident as follows: She says: I used to love my father, but family circumstances arose between us. Despite the circumstances, I love him and he loves me, but the circumstances made my father and me constantly in conflict every day. One day my father fell ill and was admitted to the hospital. After he was discharged, the doctor told my mother not to expose him to any problem, because it affects his feelings and he will die; because he cannot bear any shock. Three months passed after his discharge, and my mother did not inform us of this. Then a problem occurred between me and him that made him upset with me, and he had a shock that same day from some other problems, then he was admitted to the hospital and he passed away. Now I ask: Am I the cause of that? Please inform me and what is obligatory upon me according to the Shari'ah? May Allah reward you with good?
Answer: Nothing is obligatory upon you; because you did not intend to harm him, and you did not know about the problems that he was advised not to be exposed to, so you, if Allah wills, have done nothing wrong. Problems always occur between people and it is not possible to guard against them, so you are in this like other people, nothing is upon you if Allah wills, and there is no blood money or expiation upon you in this; because these are ordinary matters that occur between people, between a child and his father, between a brother and his brother, and between a man and his wife, so there is nothing in this if Allah wills. Yes.
