Ruling on remaining in the home to obey one's mother while living in mixed company

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Our brother says: I live with my family in one house, and I take care of their affairs after my father's passing, but I wish to travel to al-Madinah al-Munawwarah and stay there. However, my mother cannot bear my separation, and she says: "They have no one but Allah, then me." Please note that I have four brothers besides me; the eldest and the youngest are married and have children, but I do not. I do not wish to travel except to obey Allah and spend the rest of my life in obedience, because you know what we complain about in our country. If I cannot travel, I wish to move out to a house of my own so that I can raise my children with proper upbringing, because I cannot live with them; they are obsessed with watching videos and the like. I ask the Shaykh to guide me regarding these matters. May Allah reward you with good.
Answer: If there is danger for you in remaining with them, there is no harm in moving to a separate house in al-Madinah or elsewhere. You must consider your mother's feelings and seek her permission with kind words and good phrases, so that she may permit it, if Allah wills. If she does not permit it, and there is danger for you and your children from associating with your brothers who are lax regarding videos and the like, then there is no blame on you. The mother should grant you permission; she must fear Allah and permit you, and she must not be severe, because you are seeking safety for your religion. There is no blame on you. You should seek help from Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) and do what you see as best for your religion and best for your children, and protect your honor. This is what is obligatory for you. Allah says: [Surat al-Taghabun: 16] So the believer fears Allah as much as he is able, and strives for the safety of his religion, the safety of his children, and the Islamic upbringing of his children. The mother should help you in that. If Allah guides your brothers, and you distance yourselves from what Allah has forbidden, and the situation improves, then remain with them, and praise be to Allah. But if the situation does not change, and you fear for your religion and your children, you may move, even if the mother is not pleased. However, she should be pleased, she should permit it, and she should appreciate the need for separation that you mentioned. May Allah grant everyone success and guidance.
The presenter: O Allah, amen.
