Response to the Advocates of Women's Liberation

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Shaykh Abdul Aziz, the first letter in this episode was sent to the program from Jeddah by one of the brothers there. He says: Khalid (Y. A. A. Isa), P.O. Box 16,605. Our brother attached to his letter a picture of a page from one of the magazines. He says it is the magazine *Al-Tadamun*. This magazine published some speech about women, and it also overstepped regarding the correct manner in which a woman should be. Among the speech published by the magazine—what our brother quoted verbatim—is: "Salafi thought, as in the magazine under the title (The Nature of Women), practices a set of dualities. The first is the duality of liberation and servitude. It praised the woman's domestic role, then described her as the protected jewel, and the mistress of chastity and modesty. These expressions of praise and glorification, which present the woman as the pinnacle of liberation within the family, require that the true objective behind them be the isolation of the woman within the home only." He asks Your Eminence for guidance regarding what is published in such magazines?
Answer: Yes, in the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance.
This speech requires scrutiny and is general in nature; it needs reviewing the magazine and looking at what the writer wrote. There is no doubt that the woman's original state is freedom, like other women and like other men. The original state for all of Adam's descendants is freedom, not slavery. Rather, they are slaves to Allah, their servitude being to Allah alone, Glorified and Exalted is He, and they are not slaves to people. This is the original state.
As for the fact that she should be protected in her home and keep away from mixing with men, if the writer intended the true meaning, she should protect herself and keep away from mixing with men except in the need for which Allah has permitted it, such as her praying in the mosque behind the men, while she is veiled and protected, and her going out to the market for her needs, veiled and protected, to fulfill her need and return, and the like of mixing that has no suspicion in it and no evil in it.
If he intended something else, then look at what he wrote and notify, if Allah wills, those responsible for the newspaper about what must be guarded against. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
