The third question in the letter of the brother, the student of knowledge, says: He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sunan Abi Dawud 4093Sahih (Al-Albani), and he said: Sunan Abi Dawud 4093Sahih (Al-Albani) Please inform us, may Allah reward you?
Answer: Yes, these two hadiths are authentic, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The first: He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sunan an-Nasa'i 5331Sahih (Darussalam), which al-Bukhari included in his Sahih from the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him). It indicates the prohibition of letting garments hang below the ankles and that it is not permissible for a Muslim to drag his clothes below the ankles, such as trousers, the lower garment, the overcoat, the shirt, and the like. The lower garment is mentioned by way of example, not by way of specification, but by way of illustration. For this reason, it came in the other hadith where he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: , and he (peace and blessings be upon him) generalized. In the other hadith, he said: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1731Sahih (Darussalam). The garment includes the shirt, the trousers, the lower garment, the overcoat, and all clothing. A garment... whoever drags it out of arrogance, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection. The believer should, indeed, it is obligatory upon him, to beware of this letting of garments hang. There is another great, authentic hadith in this chapter where he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sunan Abi Dawud 4087Sahih (Al-Albani), and Muslim included it in his Sahih.
This great hadith indicates that these matters are among the major sins. Letting garments hang below the ankles is a major sin, belittling the gift is a major sin, and the false oath is a major sin. Allah the Exalted said: [al-Baqarah: 264]. It is obligatory upon the believer to beware of letting garments hang, to beware of belittling the gift, and to beware of spending his goods with false oaths. Merchants who sell goods with false oaths are in great danger. Likewise, belittling the gift is a major sin. So you, O servant of Allah, must beware of what Allah has forbidden you regarding letting garments hang, whether they are lower garments, shirts, overcoats, or lower garments. You must beware of that. It is established that 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), in his illness after being stabbed, before he died, saw a young man whose garment was touching the ground. He said: "Call him to me." So they called him, and he said: , or as he said, may Allah have mercy on him and be pleased with him. He (may Allah be pleased with him) explained that raising the garment is more pious toward the Lord and cleaner for the garment. Dragging clothes is a means to the anger of Allah and a means to smearing them with dirt and impurities.
It is obligatory upon the believer to beware of that, in obedience to Allah and His Messenger, and out of fear of the characteristics of the arrogant. If he drags it out of arrogance, it becomes greater in sin. Dragging it, pulling it, and letting it hang below the ankles is reprehensible. But if it is out of arrogance and with the intention of arrogance, it becomes more reprehensible and greater in sin. We ask Allah for safety.
This is specific to men. As for the woman, she may let it hang, but not with the intention of arrogance, but with the intention of covering. She lets her garment hang until it covers her feet, as this is prescribed for her because it is her 'awrah. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted her to let it hang to cover her feet from men. Unlike the man, whose feet are not 'awrah, so he does not drag his garment, his overcoat, or anything else. May Allah guide them all. Yes.

but what comes lower than the ankles is in Hell
Allah will not look at him who trails his lower garment conceitedly.
Answer: Yes, these two hadiths are authentic, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The first: He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whatever of the Izar comes below the ankles is in the Fire.
Beware of letting the garment hang, for it is of arrogance
Whoever arrogantly drags his garment, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Judgement.
Narrated Abu Dharr: The Prophet (ﷺ) as saying: There are three to whom Allah will not speak and at whom He will not look on the Day of Resurrection, and whom He will not declare pure, and they will have a painful punishment. I asked: Who are they, Messenger of Allah, they are losers and disappointed ? He repeated it three times. I asked: Who are they. Messenger of Allah, they are losers and disappointed ? He replied: The one who wears a trailing robe, the one who takes account of what he gives, and the one who produces a ready sale of a commodity by false swearing.
This great hadith indicates that these matters are among the major sins. Letting garments hang below the ankles is a major sin, belittling the gift is a major sin, and the false oath is a major sin. Allah the Exalted said:
O you who have believed, do not invalidate your charities with reminders or injury
O my son! Raise your garment, for it is more pious toward your Lord and cleaner for your garment
