Ruling on praying in the home due to the mosque being far away
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We are a group of Sudanese who have taken a house to resolve some issues, and some of the brothers have taken this house as their residence. Because the house is very large and the number of people is large, approximately twenty people at a time, we have designated a part of this house as a mosque, and it has been carpeted for the performance of prayer. The mosques are somewhat far away, and fast, crowded streets separate us from them. We hear the adhan in these mosques. We call the adhan in this house of ours and establish the prayer. Is this valid?
Answer:
It is not permissible for you to pray in the house. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Bulugh al-Maram 2:308 except if the mosques are far from you, a distance that makes it difficult to attend the prayer after the adhan. This is an excuse. But as long as you hear the ordinary call without a loudspeaker, whereas the loudspeaker comes from far away, but if the adhan is without a loudspeaker and you hear it when the sounds are quiet and there are no cars causing disturbance, you are required to attend. However, if it is far such that if you leave after the adhan you would not catch the prayer because of its distance, and you only hear the sound because of the loudspeaker, otherwise it is far, then this is an excuse for you.
And the believer is accountable for himself; he must fear Allah. If you are able to attend the mosques, then it is obligatory to attend the mosques. And if they are far from you, and it is not easy for you to attend them after the adhan due to the many streets and their distance from you, such that the prayer is missed, then this is an excuse for you.

Whoever hears the call for prayer and and does not come (to the mosque for prayer), his prayer will not be accepted from him, unless he has a (legitimate) excuse.
