The one who hit people with his car while drowsy, not fully awake, owes the blood money and the expiation. The one who struck people until he killed them, whether by his speed, his drowsiness, his lack of insight, or otherwise, is in any case an oppressor. He is liable to pay the blood money, and he owes an expiation for each soul, which is freeing a slave. If he is unable to do so, he must fast two consecutive months for each soul.
