Ruling on the Wearing of Sewn Garments by a Person in Ihram Out of Necessity

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A patient with polio who cannot walk without a medical device, and the device has leather straps with threads, as well as shoes. What is the ruling on entering the state of ihram for Hajj when such a device is necessary for the entire period of ihram?

Answer:
That does not harm him. The threads and the belt for the pilgrim do not harm him. Likewise, the shoes; he wears the sandals, even if he is not sick. The pilgrim wears the sandals, so there is no harm. What is forbidden is the ordinary clothing, such as ordinary trousers, or a shirt, or covering his head. That is forbidden. As for having a bandage on his arm and legs, a bandage for his illness, or having shoes on his feet, that does not harm him. It does not harm the person in ihram, even if he is not sick.
