Buying a house through riba (usury or interest)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
May Allah reward you. This is a woman from the Netherlands asking about her husband buying a house through riba (usury or interest). What is the ruling on that?

Answer:
It is not permissible. Riba (usury or interest) is not permissible, neither in houses nor in anything else. Allah said: “And Allah has permitted trade and forbidden riba (usury or interest)” [Surat al-Baqarah: 275]. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Allah has cursed the one who eats riba (usury or interest), the one who gives it, the one who writes it, and its two witnesses.” So riba (usury or interest) is a corrupt thing, forbidden, and it is not permissible. If a person does not have what he needs to borrow, if he does not own a house, he should be patient and rent one until he is able to own a house. Yes.
