The ruling on prostration of recitation when it coincides with the end of a surah in prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q233: The questioner asks: If I recite Surat al-'Alaq in prayer, how should the prostration of recitation be performed if it coincides with the end of the surah? Do I prostrate at the place of the prostration, then stand up and bow immediately, or do I recite something from the Qur'an afterwards and then prostrate?
A233: All of this is permissible. You prostrate at the end of the prostration. Allah the Exalted said:
No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah].كَلاَّ لاَ تُطِعْهُ وَاسْجُدْ وَاقْتَرِبْ
[Al-'Alaq 96:19]
And when you stand up, you have the choice: if you wish, you bow, and if you wish, you recite something from the Qur'an and then bow. You stand up with a takbir, you prostrate with a takbir, and you stand up with a takbir; because it is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he used to:
would say the Takbir for every lowering and raisingيكبر في كل خفض ورفع
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 253Sahih (Darussalam)
He would say takbir for the prostration of recitation, and he would say takbir when he raised his head. So when he straightened up standing, he had the choice: either to recite something from the Qur'an and then bow, or to bow immediately with the takbir of transition from bowing.
