I want to perform Hajj on behalf of my father, who passed away about two and a half years ago

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 13811 )
Q: I want to perform Hajj on behalf of my father, who passed away about two and a half years ago. Was his Hajj accepted or not? Please explain to me, with interpretations from the verses of Allah and the hadiths of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). During his lifetime, he was the imam of the mosque, and I am his son. I studied in school. We praise Allah and give thanks for our father (may Allah have mercy on him and grant him a place with the martyrs).
A: It is permissible for you to perform Hajj on behalf of your deceased father, provided that you have first performed Hajj for yourself. This is an act of dutifulness and excellence toward your father. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
