Her mother died without having performed Hajj, knowing that she was deaf and mute. Should he perform Hajj on her behalf?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 14345 )
Q2: The one whose mother died without having performed Hajj, knowing that she was deaf and mute, and it is not known whether she was praying or not on the day she died? And if I ask my father, he says: I believe she was praying, but he is not certain, since people in some places a long time ago did not care about matters of religion due to their ignorance of those commands and prohibitions, and this was forty years ago. I ask for an answer: does she owe a Hajj that I should perform on her behalf, or not?
A2 : If he is able to perform Hajj on behalf of his mother, that is good, and it is an act of dutifulness toward her. As for one who has died, his affair is with Allah, and it is not permissible to inquire about his previous deeds. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
