Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q4: Is it permissible for a Muslim to volunteer on his own initiative to perform Hajj on behalf of a Muslim with whom he has no kinship , whether it is an obligatory or voluntary Hajj?
A4 : It is permissible to perform Hajj on behalf of another Muslim, even if there is no kinship between him and the person for whom Hajj is being performed, provided that the person for whom Hajj is being performed is dead or alive but unable to perform Hajj himself due to old age or an illness that is not expected to end; based on what is established
A woman from Khath'am said: O Messenger of Allah, my father is an old man who cannot stay on the mount, so should I perform Hajj on his behalf? He said: Perform Hajj on behalf of your father.أن امرأة من خثعم قالت: يا رسول الله: إن أبي شيخ كبير لا يثبت على الراحلة أفأحج عنه؟ قال: حجي عن أبيك
agreed upon as authentic, and what is established in the hadith of Abu Razi al-'Aqili (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
O Messenger of Allah, my father is an old man who cannot perform Hajj or travel, so should I perform Hajj and 'Umrah on his behalf? He said: Perform Hajj and 'Umrah on behalf of your father.يا رسول الله: إن أبي شيخ كبير لا يستطيع الحج، ولا الظعن، أفأحج عنه وأعتمر؟ فقال: حج عن أبيك واعتمر
