Intercourse with one's wife during the day in Ramadan without full penetration

Fatwa number ( 15998 )
Q: I am a young Muslim, praise be to Allah, and I got married one week before Ramadan. It happened that I had intercourse with my wife during the day in Ramadan without full penetration, and we were fasting . We have regretted this most deeply, so I seek forgiveness from Allah the Great. I know that the expiation for this is either freeing a slave or fasting two consecutive months, and whoever cannot do that must feed sixty poor people. Since the first two options are difficult—freeing a slave is impossible, and I am unable to fast two consecutive months because I am an employee and my work requires me to go to difficult and distant places, and I do not have a balance of leave days to take a two-month leave—my question is: Is feeding sixty poor people sufficient, and how is that done?
A: Intercourse during the day in Ramadan is forbidden, it invalidates the fast, and it necessitates the heavy expiation that you mentioned. It is in this order: freeing a believing slave. Whoever cannot find one must fast two consecutive months. Whoever cannot do that must feed sixty
poor people. For each poor person, it is half a sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg) of the staple food of the land, such as dates, rice, wheat, or other such items. That is approximately one and a half kilograms for each poor person. Regarding the situation you described and your inability to free a slave or fast, it is obligatory for you to feed them, along with repenting to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and making up the day you invalidated with intercourse. If Ramadan has passed before you make it up, you must feed a poor person along with making it up as an expiation for the delay. And Allah knows best. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
