Q: My mother was suffering from cancer, and it worsened for her in the blessed month of Ramadan in 13/9/1411 AH, so she broke her fast. She continued in her illness until 11/10/1411 AH, when she passed away. I do not know whether I should fast on her behalf and give charity. Please inform us.
A: If the matter is as stated, then your mother owes nothing; because she was excused from fasting and was unable to make up the fasts until she died. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
