Fatwa number ( 20204 )
Q: A woman had drops of blood come from her during the tawaf of ifadah What is the ruling, and is there a difference between these drops occurring during her menstrual days or not? What is the ruling if she continued her tawaf due to the heavy crowd and then returned to her home, and now more than a year has passed?
A: If drops of blood come from a woman during the tawaf of ifadah or any other type of tawaf, her tawaf is invalid due to the breaking of ritual purity. She must leave, and when the blood stops, she must purify herself by taking a full ritual bath if it is menstruation, or
by performing the ablution for prayer if it is not menstruation, then return and perform the obligatory tawaf from the beginning. If she traveled and did not perform the tawaf of ifadah in the correct manner, it is obligatory for her to return to Makkah and perform the tawaf of ifadah. If she had sexual intercourse during this period, she must slaughter a sheep that is acceptable as a sacrifice in Makkah and distribute it to the poor of the Haram as expiation for the intercourse. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
