Fatwa number ( 7193 )
Q: I performed Hajj with my father, and praise be to Allah. I was with a family, and among the family members, I was unable to perform the Tawaf of Ifadah for my father, as he could not walk on his feet. I asked in the Haram, and they said: You must offer a sacrifice. However, due to my circumstances, I did not slaughter at that time. It was last year, 1403 AH, and I left Makkah and until now I have not slaughtered the sacrifice that is obligatory upon my father. Please issue a ruling for us, may Allah reward you with good.
May Allah reward you.
A: If the Tawaf that was omitted is the Tawaf of Ifadah, which is the Tawaf of Hajj that the pilgrim performs after descending from Muzdalifah , then a sacrifice does not suffice for it. Your father must return to Makkah and perform this Tawaf, either walking or being carried. He must also offer a sacrifice if he had intercourse with his wife after Hajj; he should slaughter it in Makkah and distribute it to the poor. However, if what was omitted was the Tawaf of Farewell, which is the Tawaf the pilgrim performs after completing the rites of Hajj and when leaving Makkah , then he must offer a sacrifice for it, to be slaughtered in Makkah for the poor as well. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
