The Trial of the Messiah al-Dajjal
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q255: A question from the listener L.K.B. from Iraq, who says: We hear about the Messiah al-Dajjal, and about his trial from which the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) sought refuge, and we were commanded to seek refuge from it. Who is the Messiah al-Dajjal? What is his description? What is his trial from which we were commanded to seek refuge? When will he appear? How do we protect ourselves from his trial? And can the power that Allah the Exalted granted him to try people enable him to bring the dead back to life?
A255: The Messiah al-Dajjal will emerge in the end times, and his emergence is one of the signs of the Hour. As for his description: he is a man who will emerge with great trials, gathering people of weak faith, and many people may be destroyed because of him, except those whom Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) protects. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to warn his Ummah about him and command them to seek refuge with Allah from his trial. And if the harm that befalls the Muslims from him occurs, then Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), by His mercy, will send down the Messiah
Isa ibn Maryam; he will kill him and relieve the Muslims from his evil. By that, the truth will prevail, and Isa (peace be upon him) will break the cross, kill the pig, and rule by the Shari'ah of Islam, the Shari'ah of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and the truth will prevail over falsehood when he descends (peace and blessings be upon him). The trial of the Messiah al-Dajjal is specific to the living only; as for the dead, their relationship with this worldly life has ended, and he only comes in this world. As for the people of the graves, he cannot bring them out of their graves.
