Necessity to Wear Sewn Garments

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 14749 )
Q: I entered the state of ihram for Hajj alone from my place of residence in Jeddah on the night of the eighth of Dhu al-Hijjah, and I performed the arrival tawaf before the Fajr prayer on the Day of Tarwiyah, then I performed the sa'y for Hajj after the Fajr prayer on the Day of Tarwiyah. Is the chronological order in which
Did you perform the rites mentioned correctly? Before the first exit from the state of consecration, I plucked one or two hairs from my beard without intending to do so. What is required of me? What is required of me if I am compelled to wear sewn clothing while in the state of consecration for a valid religious excuse, such as illness? On the second day of the days of Tashriq, the call to prayer for the midday prayer is at 12:25, and I stoned the first pillar at 12:22. Is that permissible? May Allah reward you with the best reward, and peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

A: First: Your entering ihram for Hajj alone on the night of the eighth of Dhu al-Hijjah, and then performing the sa'y for Hajj after the arrival tawaf, is valid. Second: If you plucked the one or two hairs while in ihram by mistake, you owe nothing. Third: If a person in ihram is compelled to wear sewn garments due to illness or the like, he may do so, and he must pay an expiation, which is fasting for three days, or feeding six poor people, or slaughtering a sheep that is acceptable as a sacrificial animal in Makkah and distributing it to the poor of the Haram; for Allah the Exalted said:
And do not shave your heads until the sacrificial animal has reached its place of slaughter. And whoever among you is ill or has an ailment of the head [making shaving necessary must offer] a ransom of fasting [three days] or charity or sacrifice.
[Al-Baqarah 2:196]

Fourth: Your throwing the pillar on the second day of Tashriq before the sun reaches its zenith is not sufficient, and you must pay a ransom to make up for the rite. The ransom is a sheep that is acceptable as a sacrificial animal, slaughtered in Makkah and distributed to the poor of the Haram. If you are unable to do so, fast for ten days. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
