Ihram for 'Umrah during the period of post-natal bleeding
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 20799 )
Q2: During the period of miscarriage, and in the month of Ramadan, I performed the full ritual bath and intended to go to perform 'Umrah. When I reached the miqat, I was surprised by the onset of menstruation. I performed the full ritual bath at the miqat and went to al-Masjid al-Haram , where I performed only the sa'y (walking between al-Safa and al-Marwah), and did not perform the tawaf (circumambulation of the Ka'bah). I then returned directly to my home, which is 400 km from Makkah , and I exited the state of ihram after arriving home. What is the ruling on this? Please note that this is the first time I have performed 'Umrah.
A2: As you mentioned in the first question, your ihram for 'Umrah was during the period of post-natal bleeding. This is a valid ihram that obligates you to perform the rites of 'Umrah. It is not permissible for you to refuse them. You must adhere to the rulings of ihram and proceed to Makkah to perform the rites of 'Umrah, including tawaf, sa'y, and shortening the hair.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
