Slaughtering cattle or sheep after the death of a deceased person within a specific period

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 17951 )
Q 1: My father has passed away. Is it permissible for us to slaughter cattle or sheep after his death? He did not bequeath this. Please inform us. May Allah reward you with good.
A 1 : Slaughtering cattle or sheep after the death of a deceased person within a specific period is considered one of the religious innovations (bid'ah) that must be abandoned. What is prescribed (mashru') is giving charity on behalf of the deceased, in the form of meat or other food, to those in need at any time. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
