Question:
We return at the beginning of this episode to the message from our listener, Ubayd ibn Husayn al-Ibrahim, a Syrian resident of Arar. Our brother Ubayd raised a question for us in a previous episode, and in this episode he asks and says: A while ago, I vowed to Allah to slaughter thirteen heads of sheep. I asked Allah to make this easy for me and to facilitate my affairs, and praise be to Allah, He did. At that time, the cost of a sheep did not exceed two hundred and fifty Syrian pounds, but now a single head costs between two thousand five hundred and three thousand five hundred pounds. So I slaughtered a cow in its place. My question is: Does the cow, which costs about nine thousand pounds, suffice for the thirteen heads, or not? May Allah reward you with good.
Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance.
As for what follows:
The apparent indication of the Sharia evidence is that the cow does not suffice in this case; because you vowed sheep, and the meat of sheep is more delicious and more beneficial than the meat of cattle. So what I see is that you must complete the slaughters you vowed, which are the sheep, according to your ability: [al-Taghabun:16], from time to time until you complete the number you vowed to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). And along with this, you must leave off making vows in the future. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade vows and said: Sahih Muslim 1639c.
So what is prescribed for you is to leave off making vows in the future. As for this vow, you must fulfill it, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sunan Ibn Majah 2126Sahih (Darussalam) This is a vow of obedience to Allah; a vow of sheep as a nearness to Allah and an act of obedience... So you must fulfill your vow according to your ability; whenever you are able, slaughter what is facilitated until you complete it.
As for the cow, the most likely ruling is that it does not suffice; because sheep are more delicious and more beneficial for the poor and the needy. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.

So fear Allah as much as you are able
فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْIt does not (necessarily) bring good (in the form of substantial, and tangible results), but it is the meant whereby something is extracted from the miserly persons.
إنه لا يأتي بخير وإنما يستخرج به من البخيلSo what is prescribed for you is to leave off making vows in the future. As for this vow, you must fulfill it, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
